Thomas Gyllings´ grandfather imported and built radios under the Centrum brand in the 1930´s. His father was involved with the introduction of the television and instrumental in bringing the SONY brand to Sweden in the early 1960´s. Needless to say, sound, graphic images and innovation has always played a big part in this family´s lifestyle.
Thomas started out in radio, introducing tropical music and new grooves to a nationwide audience. Radioshows like Radio West Indies, Rythmdoctor and Bam Bam Crocodile on the P3 channel made a new type of impact during the 1980´s and the 1990's, playing Reggae, R & B, Hip Hop, Soca and Latin music when other radio DJ´s played ABBA and the Pet shop Boys. From playing these genres of music, Thomas has made a strong impression on a growing number of listeners.
Focusing on Television and the fact that Swedish popular culture such as music and design really needed a dose of international inspiration, the TV series "Tropicopop" was created and produced between 1988 to 1992 , bringing home the latest visuals & music from places like Tokyo, Paris, Rio and the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago. He then soon became a household name in Scandinavian Television .
"Mosquito" a TV series presented and produced by Thomas and several production companies between 1998-2003 showcased the latest in 3D animation, SFX, commercials, short films and music videos. This nationwide TV series broadcasted by SVT did spellbound the Scandinavian viewers with more than 30 episodes.
Today, bringing new ideas into televison and web is his main mission. Mixing a strong cocktail of high-end visuals and entertainment, believing that the role of a trusted and humorous selector is the best way to present and profile television in our accelerating world of the ''media-buzz''. The viewers appreciate someone who picks out the golden nuggets and serves them hot on a plate!
Thomas and his small team of professionals are engaged in researching, presenting and producing for television and the web where it has positively resulted in a vast amount of international contacts with whom materials are constantly exchanged.
Seeking fresh entertainment will always value a brand new TV format. This will be definately produced and presented in 2010 / 2011.
